According to Lindroth (1968) found on sandy soil in Typha marshes where there is plenty of water via streams. These beetles are fully winged and can probably fly. Only one example was collected on the Virginia shore opposite the Island in 1921 (HSB). There are no recent records. No teneral specimens found. The single adult was collected in October. The stage in which hibernation occurs is unknown. Total length, 4.2 to 5.0 mm (4.6).
